Order Raw Files (CJP Clients Only) Every Photo in Gallery
Chris Jack Photography now offers the raw digital negatives (raw photos) of all your edited photos as a Dropbox link for an investment of $250.
That means you can take the raw files from your gallery and reimagine the photos yourself (or using AI) without the loss in image quality that would occur if you edited the JPEG versions.
Think about how advanced automated editing of photos (from raw files) will be in the future considering what is possible even today!
Benefits of purchasing the raw files
Maximum Image Data: RAW files contain all the unprocessed data from the camera sensor, allowing for deeper editing flexibility—especially useful if you want to adjust exposure, white balance, or recover details in shadows and highlights.
Non-Destructive Editing: Changes made to RAW files don’t overwrite the original image, so you can always revert to the untouched version.
Creative Control: If you’re skilled in editing or working with a professional retoucher, RAW files let you apply your own style or corrections without being limited.
Archival Value: RAW files serve as digital negatives, preserving the highest quality version of your wedding photos for future re-edits or upgrades, including using AI tools.
Please note that editing raw files requires additional software and the skills to do this.
Once ordered, all delivered photos from your event or wedding will be exported to a Dropbox folder as raw CR3 files (Canon) and a link provided to download within 5 days.
With the raw files and the correct software (Adobe Lightroom, Capture One etc.) you can change the white balance (make photos colder or warmer), increase the exposure, change colours etc without any noticeable loss in quality, either now or anytime in the future.
This purchase also includes a license to alter and edit the raw files in perpetuity (forever) for any purpose for personal use, with no attribution of the photographer required (or permitted).
You can reedit all your photos as you please, do whatever you want with the photos providing you do not attribute (mention Chris Jack Photography) in relation to the usage of any images publicly (for example crediting the photographer). That’s to protect my reputation if you change the photos (which you can do with the digital negatives).
Please note: Due to the archiving and eventual deletion, raw files should preferably be pre-purchased when you make your booking, or within 2 weeks of receiving the gallery using this form.
If you have been invited to purchase the raw files before their deletion, please do so within the pending deletion timeframe as after this period the raw files wil not be available.
The raw photos will be CR3 (Canon raw file) versions of each photo included in your final gallery. It won’t be every photo taken on the day, because that would be probably thousands of unselected photos due to those not being as good as the ones selected.
Once ordered we will export the raw files to a Dropbox folder. Please note that if we are unable to provide the raw files (for example they have already been deleted or are corrupted) a full refund will be raised.
Purchase of raw files includes a new PDF license called ‘RAW LICENSE’ which assigns rights to you to create any derivative artworks from the raw files, forever for personal use.
Please also note that for clients before about 2022 your raw files may actually be provided as Adobe DNG files. DNG files are a raw format which includes the original edits. For other clients, the raw CR3 files only will be provided.
