White Chapel in Kalbar is by far one of my favourite venues, and many don’t realise it’s not that far away from Brisbane - bang on one hours scenic drive from the city.
You would think it would be the sort of place that was easy to find a park in the township, but everytime I visit Kalbar it seems to be getting busier and busier. It makes for a lovely weekend drive and destination.
Most couples when getting married at White Chapel aren’t all that interested in heading somewhere else for photos, and I can assure you that on a nice sunny day you really don’t need to. The only extra portrait location that we ventured to was the end of the street, and that was more than enough becuase of the ever maturing gardens at White Chapel.
When it first opened many years ago, of course the gardens were not as mature but it is now absolutely spectacular on a sunny day, and still great if it’s overcast.
The only hitch on this wedding day was the act of getting hitched! Everything seemed to flow perfectly from getting ready through to reception, and the bridal party were also amazing to work with which also helps.
If you are planning a rural wedding, definitely consider White Chapel/Black Hall I have to say the food in particular is pretty stunning as are the backdrops and the White Chapel has just enough light (unlike many chapels) to really make your ceremony photos pop.
