What makes CJP different

I do things a bit differently than many traditional wedding and event photographers. My goal is to make your entire experience completely stress-free, transparent, and tailored to exactly what you need.

Here is what sets my service apart:

1. Industry-Leading Flexibility & Full Refunds

6-Hour Cancellation Window: I know plans can change unexpectedly. That’s why my booking agreement is fully flexible. You can postpone or even cancel your booking up to six hours before the wedding starts and receive a full refund, no rigid deposits here.

Some people baulk at this at first, thinking there is no way they are going to cancel or reschedule their wedding. But as we all know, life has that unpredictable way of throwing curve balls when we least expect it.

The main reason for cancelling a wedding is due to major life changes including needing to relocate to another state or city. While it’s unlikely you will need to cancel or postpone your wedding, it’s nice to know there won’t be any penalty if have to.

Free Weather Raincheck: If the weather forces us to change plans on the day, I offer a free raincheck to shoot your creative portrait session on a separate day at no extra cost to you.

This has no conditions attached to it. You simply decide on the day whether you would prefer to separate your couples portraits and do them on another day. Some couples have elected to do this not because of weather, but for medical or other reasons. Some people do it because they are running behind on their schedule. Nice to know it’s an option.

2. No Gatekeeping : RAW Files Available

While the vast majority of professional photographers strictly withhold their unedited raw digital files, I believe they belong to you if you want them. I explicitly offer an optional RAW files package so you can keep the uncompressed digital negatives for your own personal archiving or editing. And it’s reasonably priced at just $300 flat rate (regardless of the number of photos).

At the time of writing this article, I could find only a handful of other professional photographers that offer this. Those that did generally charged much more than $300 and based it on the number of photos in the final gallery.

My raw file option is only $300 (the lowest cost I could fina anywhere) and is not dependent on the number of photos.

3. You Get Me, NOT AN UNKNOWN FACTOR - Always

I never outsource my work to "associate photographers." When you book Chris Jack Photography, you deal exclusively with me from the initial planning stages to the day of the shoot, right through to the final edit.

Many wedding photography services based their entire business model on using sub contractors. They invest in more advertising and marketing and seem to offer good value for money. Generally speaking, they can do this because outsource to photographers who don’t have enough demand from their existing portfolio or marketing.

A very experienced wedding photographer is probably not going to work for the companies, and while there are some benefits (a larger pool of photographers they can call upon if someone gets sick) ultimately it becomes ‘luck of the draw’ as to who you will get on the day.

4. Rapid Turnaround Times

Next-Day Sneak Peeks: You shouldn't have to wait weeks to share your memories. I individually edit and deliver 15 "sneak peek" photos by the very next morning following your wedding.

30-Day Full Delivery: I deliver your entire maximum-resolution gallery within 30 days, getting your final images back to you significantly faster than the industry average.

5. Transparent Deliverables & No Upselling

I don't hide your best photos behind a paywall to upsell you later. I edit and deliver every single viable image, averaging roughly 65+ photos per hour of coverage (around 600+ photos for an 8-hour wedding). All files are provided at maximum resolution without watermarks, alongside two years of complimentary online gallery hosting.

I don’t try to upsell anything, every clients gets the same top service and inclusions from a registry wedding to a full day epic celebration. I don’t push albums or print products on clients, but they are available on request only.

Many wedding photographers business models are heavily based on selling prints and ancillary products such as albums. That’s a solid business model, but I sort of feel that with AI and advances in print technology albums and print products will only get cheaper.

So for my clients I stress the importance of digital backups of their photos in the cloud, and suggest they shop around before buying any prints or artworks for the best offers.

6. Meticulous Preparation & Backup Systems

Location Scouting: I never wing it. Before your wedding day (or before the coverage starts) I personally visit the venues to scout the best backdrops and lighting environments if they are new to me, ensuring our time together on the day is seamless and efficient.

Sometimes this is on another completely different day to the wedding, or I will scope it out an hour or so before starting. Either way, I never turn up a new location blind. In most cases I am already familiar with your chosen locations, and probably certainly the suburb or area.

Rock-Solid Reliability: Your photos are safe with me. I shoot using dual memory cards simultaneously for instant backups, carry extensive backup gear, and maintain a flawless on-time record across more than 950+ weddings and events since going full-time in 2015.

Some ‘professional’ photographers still shoot with cameras which capture images just as good as my camera. The problem is they only have one memory card. It’s like playing russian roulette (albeit slightly better odds). But one day when they least expect it, given enough time… a memory card will fail and you may lose some or all of your photos. The chances of this are low, but why take the risk.

I have shot over a million photos in my career and have never been in a position where I have to have ‘that chat’ with the client about missing photos.

7. NO ‘FOLLOW UPS’ OR NAGGING

Honestly, I am too busy shooting and editing to follow up enquiries by calling or emailing clients who have enquired. When you enquire about a wedding or event date with me, I reply quickly and invite you to book a chat. There are no follow up phone calls or emails sent.

I give you the information you need and then wait for you to ask questions or book a call.

Even if you include your phone number when enquiring, I won’t call it unless you request this specifically. I respect your privacy and treat my clients the way I would want to be treated.

8. NO WEIRD EDITING OR FILTERS

Filters and presets are used by every wedding photographer to give their photos a certain look. There is nothing wrong with this, but some change their presets on a regular basis. So you might get photos that look different to their portfolio photos. My presets have not changed since day one because I carefully chose them and tweaked them. Your wedding photos will look identical in colour to every photo in my gallery. No surprises, and no freaky nuclear orange skin tones - just correctly and predictably edited photos.
