This means is that I highly recommend Roma Street Parklands for your bridal portraits, bridal party portraits and couples portraits on your wedding day. Roma Street Parklands is also offered as a wet weather raincheck location, should you decide to do your portratis on another sunny day.

Of course for couples getting married at Brisbane locations that already have good backdrops (such as Walkabout Creek) most couples will elect to have their portraits captured there instead (and that makes complete sense).

I am personally kept intimately familiar with the park all year round with regards to the best spots, and can capture both quality and quantity of photos.
Parking is readily available at College Close Car Park anytime of the day at council meter rates, making it super easy for couples or bridal parties to park and join in the portrait session. There is also space for limo parking or waiting in College Close Car Park, making it very convenient.
The park has a fab indoor/outdoor garden themed cafe ‘The Garden Room’ which can be used as a meeting place with other family who can grab a wine or coffee before or after any portrait sessions. The Garden Room also hosts wedding receptions, and is the perfect wedding reception venue if you are also get married at Roma Street Parklands.
Roma Street Parklands offers many different wedding ceremony locations throughout the park, so you can also get married there (how convenient is that!). I know them all so feel to book a call to discuss the pros and cons of each one.
The park has ample bathroom facilities located throughout, including near The Garden Room.
24 hour security operates in the park together with the CCTV everywhere so it’s a very safe space to use, in 10 years I have never had any ‘problems’ (the same can’t be said for other areas of Brisbane unfortunately!).
Roma Street Parklands is the best and most prettily maintained park in Brisbane, with many full-time gardeners employed by the council and regular volunteers who keep it looking perfect all year round. This applies to the Spectacle Garden as well (where most of the flower beds are).
The Spectacle Garden features flower beds, making these ideal for photo backgrounds (you can’t go wrong with all that colour!).

Events taking place in the park never adverseley affect portraits, so again it’s a great everyday location with no nasty surprises (unlike at Botanic Gardens when events take place and everything is fenced off). And don’t even get me started about how bad it is to park at other locations!
It has many wide tree lined paths, making it ideal to capture Bridal Party photos as you link arms with your bridal party, walk and talk etc.

The park is not just great at sunset, the tall trees in the Spectacle Garden make it possible to shield couples from the direct sun during the middle of the day, making it versatile and effective ay any time of the day with an experienced photographer.

It offers a wide variety of backdrops and scenese that can be accessed in a loop from the Rainforest to Spectacle Garden and the Waterfall, making photo shoots there efficient and productive.

There is something for everyone, from water features to flowers, cascading waterfalls and bamboo to Australian native bush and rainforest sections. And it’s all accessible in a relatively small area compared to the Mt Coot Tha Gardens or the Brisbane Botanical gardens.

If a storm rolls in, there is cover from rain right in the centre of the park near the Spectacle Garden.

Roma Street Parklands is Brisbanes best wedding portrait location in my experience, I look forward to shooting there even more now it’s my official ‘preferred’ location for wedding portraits.
