New ‘fully flexible’ booking agreement terms

Most people in Australia opt to ‘DIY’ when it comes to wedding planning. That means lots of things to consider, plan and book. It also means that inevitably some things will change at the last minute.

This could be due to one of those common Brisbane thunderstorms which roll in at any time, or due to sickness or absence of guests or in the worst case, vendors.

That’s why I thought long and hard about my agreement terms and are now offering what I hope will be some of the most flexible and forgiving terms for everything from your deposit, through to last minute changes.

Here is a summary of my wedding agreement terms going forward…

PORTAITS RAIN CHECK

On the day of the wedding, it may be in your interests to capture couples portraits or bridal party portraits on another day. There are numerous reasons for this, but the most common is just weather. There is just no substitute for a nice fine day when it comes to capturing the best possible portraits for a skilled photographer.

That’s why I now offer FREE rainchecks on portraits, meaning you can opt to do them on another day.

This isn’t for everyone, as you may dread doing hair and makeup again etc or you might be visiting interstate. But it’s still an option you can exercise, for any reason.

How it works is that on the day of the wedding itself, when it comes time to do portraits (normally about 90 minutes before sunset) you can simply decide if you want to postpone these. I then take a break during this time, and after the wedding we reschedule the amount of time we had planned to another day, and even location (such as Roma Street Parklands - which nevers fails to deliver on a sunny day).

Late Cancellation

In the event a cancellation or postponement of the wedding or event photography is requested by the client within 6 hours of the photographer start time, a full refund of all monies paid will be provided (even if the full amount has already been paid). This includes the transaction fees that I have incurred (so a 100% full refund).

This was designed to acommodate those unusual (but possible) cases where someone is so sick they cannot attend the wedding and it needs to be postponed.

But why would you actually cancel your wedding? Well you might be visiting interstate, or you might move to another state after the wedding (before you have a chance to schedule another date).

Postponements

Postponing (change the date either now or advised later) within 6 hours of the wedding or event can also be arranged without any financial loss.

Locked in Pricing

Once you book your date, that pricing is locked in for up to two years for any postponements (regardless of whether my rates increase). If my rates decrease in the future, you will of course receive the lower pricing but with inflation this is probably not going to happen ;)

FLEXIBLE & EFFICIENT COVERAGE

Coverage refers to the amount of time you have scheduled/booked me for on the day of the wedding. This can be discussed and tweaked during our pre-wedding consultation.

For example, you might have originally planned on booking me for eight hours, but after discussing the photography timeline in detail, we both agree that seven hours would be more than sufficient.

So after the pre-wedding consultation I send through a revised invoice for seven hours, saving you $250 (for example).
